The Northwest region of Saskatchewan offers outdoor enthusiasts two provincial parks which incorporate thousands of kilometers of pristine boreal forest broken only by the Waterhen River system.












Looking for just the right camping spot?

  • Meadow Lake Provincial Park houses 1600 square kilometers of boreal forest and 25 crystal clear lakes. They have 9 full service sites, 338 electric sites, and 382 non-electric sites.
  • Makwa Lake Provincial Park six lakes and countless opportunities to fish, hike or play a round of golf. They have 15 full service sites, 95 electric sites and 241 non-electric sites.
  • Meadow Lake has a quaint campground located in their Lion’s Park if you like to be close to all the amenities of a larger community.
  • Goodsoil offers free overnight camping within in their community– take the opportunity to visit their local attractions.
  • Dorintosh, just minutes from the Meadow Lake Provincial Park entrance, will have full service sites available summer 2008.

Calling all outdoor enthusiasts!
Are you interested in hiking, trail cycling, swimming, fishing, boating, golfing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing?

  • St. Cyr Hills offer 2-12 KM loops through a unique hill formation west of the Town of Meadow Lake; groomed for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter and great for hiking and cycling in the summer.
  • Makwa Provincial Park- 16 KM of hiking trails
  • Meadow Lake Provincial Park- 45 KM of hiking trailing
  • Both provincial parks offer excellent swimming, snorkeling, fishing and boating opportunities.
  • Enjoy a round of golf at one…or two of the ten golf courses in the area.
  • The region boasts excellent snow conditions for snowmobiling from late November to early April.
